Over 50 years ago the Pries family started Coastal Bend Sales selling mattresses and appliances off Ayers drive in Corpus Christi, TX. Over the years Coastal Bend Sales grew to meet the needs of Corpus Christi and the surrounding area. When the time came to transition to the next generation, the oldest son, George, changed the name to Chubby’s Matress and Rustic Furniture, after his most believed dog, and began to expand its offerrings.

In additional to our complete Tempurpedic and Sealy bedding lines, we’re now the “go to” place for all styles of finer handcrafted solid wood furniture as well as the complete Ashley contemporary furniture lines at all locations.

We’re not just your parents’ old mattress store anymore! 😊

And after 50 years, Chubby’s Mattress’s 3 locations continue to proudly serve the Coast Bend Area. We look forward to the next 50 years in our community.
